Public Input Meeting

The Town will hold a public input meeting on Monday, April 18th at 10:00 a.m. in the Town Hall Public Assembly. The sole purpose of the meeting will be to receive public comment on submitting a $500,000 grant application to the NC Parks and Recreation Trust Fund regarding reimbursement of pier property acquisition costs. Click here to view the application components. A slideshow presentation will explain the grant documents prior to public comment. 

This is a staff run meeting and will not be an official meeting of the Board of Commissioners. It will not be broadcast on Facebook Live. 

FEMA Beach Nourishment Project

The Town’s storm damage repair project concluded last night after receiving two extensions, which enabled the contractor to meet their obligations. The crews will be demobilizing over the next few days and pipes should be completely off the beach by the end of the month. We will be conducting required beach tilling and planting vegetation in the next few weeks.

FEMA Beach Nourishment Public Walkway Repair Notice and Closure

The public walkway at 122.5 OBE will be closing starting tomorrow for repairs. The public walkway at 114 OBE will be closed staring Monday. With the demand for construction and materials, the repairs are being made based on the contractor’s availability and they will work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
